Ken Howard (1932–2022) was a British painter celebrated for his luminous landscapes, interiors, and urban scenes. Born in London, he studied at Camberwell School of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art, where he developed a precise, observational style combined with a subtle handling of light and colour.

Howard is known for his depictions of natural and architectural subjects, often capturing the changing qualities of daylight and atmosphere with meticulous realism. He exhibited widely across the UK and internationally and served as President of the Royal Society of British Artists.

He was elected a Royal Academician in 1991 and is recognized as one of the leading British painters of his generation, admired for his technical skill, sensitivity to light, and evocative portrayals of both urban and rural environments.
